For some people, Valentine’s Day means extravagant gifts… but that’s not for me.
The best gift I have ever received has been the love of family, and any chance I get to spend with them means more to me than anything money could ever buy. Some people always ask me what I want for whatever upcoming holiday, and my answer is always the same: more family time.
I am pretty sure I will never get tired of that.
If you are like us, and you would rather spend a day or two with family, then I have three suggestions for you that could work for any given day:
1. Have a nice dinner with the family. Whether you decide to go out or cook a huge meal for your family, it is important for include everyone. And for us, that means even our pup. We always have a pleasant experience at Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, and the waiters love Rocky. They always bring their friends over to introduce them to Rocky. You can read all about of our experience at Lime Fresh Mexican Grill over here.
2. Take a trip to a local park. Head to a local park with your family to walk around and enjoy the beauty of nature. One thing living in South Florida has taught us is that life is a lot better when you can enjoy the simple things in life. Although we visit different parks together as a family, Jeff and I both agree that Vista View Park is our favorite so far. There is so much to do and if you go right before sunset you get a great view on top of the hill as it sets.
3. Relax on the couch. As a mom, there are little moments you really get to spend lounging around. Whether you work outside of your home or not, you need time to re-energize. Taking a few minutes from your busy day is important to your sanity, and to the sanity of others.
