An Honest Letter To My First-Born Son

Dear First-Born,

You may not be the center of my world these days, but you will always hold a special place in my heart.
I want you to know that although I spend a lot of time caring for your baby brother, I’m still watching you. And most importantly, I’m so proud of all you’ve accomplished thus far.
Watching you become the little man you are today is inspiring! And I’m thankful for being able to witness most of your “firsts” these passed 2+ years.
You’re everything I hoped for in my first-born and more. Smart, silly, and always willing to help around the house. I don’t know exactly how you’ve turned out to be as amazing, but I hope your little brother picks up similar traits.
Oh, and you may not know this, but I always do my best to cuddle up next to you while you’re asleep. I know it’s tough for you when I have to care for your baby brother in the middle of the night. But once I get a chance to hop back into bed, I make it a point to hold you and tell you how proud I am of you. I even apologize for losing my patience earlier in the day.
You’re my first real scare as a mom, and we’ll always have that bond.
Love always,
Your number one fan
