Bedtime Routines With Two

This post is sponsored by iHerb in collaboration with Aveeno

Nothing beats a warm bath after a long day of running errands and visiting family and friends. Before hitting the sack, we follow a bedtime routine for the boys.

After chasing partially-sleepy kids, we manage to peel off their clothing items and get them ready for a bath. A wash and a rinse mean this mom can sit back while the two play with their toys.

With just the right amount of Aveeno body wash, the boys move their arms around to create bubbles. Thankfully, we recently picked up two 18FLoz bottles from iHerb to make sure we have enough for the rest of the month. After a long, stressful day, we use the Aveeno Baby Calming Comfort Bath, but on most nights, we use the Aveeno Baby Wash & Shampoo to get the boys ready for bed.

Being able to order the boys’ body wash and shampoo online has allowed me to minimize my trips to the store this month and help me focus on packing our things as we prepare for a big move next month.

Tips To Dressing Two
On most nights, it’s just me and boys getting ready for bed until my husband gets home from work. Our eldest helps with his little brother in any way he can. From helping to remove the soap from his face to getting his lotion ready for when he gets dressed.

When bathing two under five years old, you always want to prepare in advance. We lay out their favorite superhero pajamas for them to wear. Doing so gets our little ones excited about bath time.

Getting our little ones into the tub means we have to grab one by one and get them ready for a bath. Their toys get the first wash and are then rinsed off while our boys get bathed. It makes it easier when they know what to expect, plus it helps us practice naming things such arms and legs.

Right before we pick up our favorite books, we do a bedtime massage using the Aveeno Daily Moisture Lotion. This helps calm the boys down after all the madness in the tub. Both boys have sensitive skin thanks to my husband and I. Moisturizing daily is key to keeping your skin hydrated, especially here in South Florida where it’s important to baby your skin and most importantly your baby’s skin. That’s why most pediatricians recommend Aveeno as part of your daily skincare routine. You can read gentle skincare tips for your baby here.

When my husband arrives, it’s all fun and games. Together, we tire out the kids by playing with cars and dinosaurs — it’s their current favorite thing to do. Then, we read a book or two more than twice before the boys fall asleep. There are nights we have to put on their favorite show before bed, and that’s okay because, within minutes, they’ll fall asleep and it’ll be our turn to catch up on our shows.

  1. I love Aveeno products. My daughter has outgrown the baby washes but we still use Aveeno products for her. She has eczema and it is the only thing that helps it. This was a sweet post, I just love little ones at bed time. Kids in their jammies are the best. I’m sharing this with my sister for her 3 little ones.

  11. Bedtime routines are so incredible. However, I wish my little one would love the water like he use to. Maybe it’s a phase but he absolutely hates it which makes bed time so rough. I do love aveeno products though!
