Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links Starting a blog is very exciting, and if you are planning to monetize your blog, you will need to build your blog’s presence. Whether you have set up Google Analytics or use the analytics on your WordPress Dashboard, there is one thing that means more than the amount of followers. That my friend is your content.
Prior to thinking of the type of content you will be sharing, you will need to figure out who are your target readers. Yes, your family and friends might want to read this, but I am referring to those in the blogosphere. For me, it is first-time moms and stay-at-home moms. Reviewing Products You can start doing this on your own based on the products you already use on a daily basis, or you could request free or discounted products from retailers, such as Target and Walmart.
Aside from retailers, there are websites that offer free products while supplies last. I recently discovered SheSpeaks and I have been religiously checking for new products. I managed to score one from Dove two weeks ago and have since become a Dove Insider. I will warn you that after signing up to receive these products, you will have to wait at least a month before receiving these products.
If you are a social media junkie, I suggest signing up for Influenster and Klout. I shared a brief overview on Influenster in an FAQs post. Although these websites do not pay you for spreading the word, it is a good place to start when you are looking to build content on your website. Other sites to consider for products to review: sverve Moms Affiliate Tomoson Bloggy Moms
MassiveSway is good too. Because I run my site on WordPres(dot)com, I could not participate in their campaigns.
My favorite so far has been Moms Affiliate. I get to connect with brands I use, discover new ones, display affiliate links on my site and monitor my website’s progress — all in one place.
Tomoson is second. It has several products to choose from and has a good number of paid products to review. There is an unlimited amount of products you can apply to.
