Patio Ideas For The Family
Our patio has always been our main attraction during the warmer seasons, and we’ve been looking for patio ideas to spruce it up a bit.
From breakfast to family gatherings, we like to make the most out of our patio furniture. After all, that’s why we bought it right?
Simple Is Always In Style
Multifunctional pieces are my go-to for everything. I found this 4-piece patio dining set on the Target website and I thought about all the fun things you can do with it. The table could be used for a self-serve brunch, the bench could be placed by the flowers for a more intimate area for your guests. The two chairs could be placed near the patio door with a simple table for drinks.
If you love your patio set, then you might want to give it a facelift. Although I’m not a fan of using throw pillows on my bed or on the couch, I will admit that adding a toss pillow to patio furniture really does make a difference — not just on your back or buttocks, but it gives your patio a more personalized look.
Our eldest loves the color green, and he’s been my help with finding inspiration for our backyard. I wasn’t open to the idea of such a bright color until I thought about how having green accents outdoors would make our family garden stand out. Also, our patio furniture is made out of wood, and with a dark stain, the green toss pillows will look fabulous.
A play area is always a must when entertaining guests. Aside from the usual board games and dominoes we already own, I’ve been thinking of looking into something that gets everyone moving. A bean toss game might do the trick, and it can get competitive. Always exciting when you get family and friends together for a little competition — males against females, anyone?
This mini bean toss is less than $25 on the Target website and is easy to put away — a bonus for us!
Having an area for the boys to play is one thing, but having a place for the kids to store their things is everything! When you’re planning the layout of your yard, you always want to keep in mind that your kids will be using it most of the time.
Although we’ll have a garage to store our things, we’re thinking about having an area next to the backdoor to make it easier for the kids to find their toys. Storage shelves work wonders, and they make organization a breeze when you have little ones. We might even add one to their bedroom as well just to keep things tidy.
