Only trust someone who can see these three things in you: 1) The sorrow behind your smile; 2) The love behind your anger; and 3) The reason behind your silence.
I read the quote above in a friend’s Instagram post and it made me think about the person I am and the people I surround myself with.
I’ve let many people go in my lifetime but it was because they never saw the above, were never worth my trust. Those that have, family and close friends, remained in my life.
Although I can’t stand when someone asks what’s wrong, it’s when they notice something’s up and are willing to talk about it that makes a difference.
This comes with maturity.
Now, at 24, I’m beginning to notice how much life really does get better. There were times in my life I didn’t think life would, but it did. One life lesson that’s always made sense to me is that experiences are what builds character. Think of the past and where you are today. If it’s not better today, then you may want to rethink your journey.
