We kept talking about visiting our family up North, and now that we are back home, it feels as though the trip was all a dream. Our first stop was Orlando to visit my cousin and his family. We got there before noon and it was nice to spend time with his wife and kids while we waited for him to get home from work. It was the first time Jeff met my cousin and they pretty much bonded better than he and I have ever — weird, huh?
Although the kids were a little afraid of Rocky, they warmed up to him after a good 10 minutes. We let them pet him, explained that he was not going to hurt them and that all he really wanted was belly rubs. They each took turns to pet him, it was cute. Because my cousin is allergic to dogs, we kept Rocky outside most of the time until my cousin got home. His allergies did not act up and it was nice to see that Rocky was allowed back inside the house 🙂
Back On The Road Our next stop was Tampa to visit Jeff’s cousin and his family. We got there a little later than we had planned, but it was nice to sit down and have dinner. The kids ate a little, but they were so excited to see each other, that they decided playing was more important. They are both close in age, so it is always sweet watching our sons play.
We spent the night and most of the following day with Jeff’s family. Although the weather was a bit chilly, we headed to the beach and grabbed lunch at Caddy’s. Everything was delicious and very filling. We spent most of the day there, catching up on everything.
After the beach, we headed back to their home and packed our car. It was sad to say goodbye, but we knew that we would see each other soon. And now that we have done the drive once, we pretty much know what to expect. We made a pitstop for the boys, and Sebastian wanted to steer all the way back home. But first, he had to make sure his jam was on.
