Kind words to my first born son.

There’s beauty in bringing a life to this world, but sometimes when you’re raising a family of multiples you forget the value in dedicating time to everyone. Since having my first born son, I felt inspired to want more and do more in life.

Not only to improve our family life but to also create a home that reflected the values I liked and wanted during my childhood. A home filled with love and time for everything.

From creating memories together to experiencing first-time life events, it’s been a blessing to be home with the kids. It’s taught me not to take things for granted.

Change is part of life, and although I thought I was only going to have one child after my c-section, I was given two more. With three kids and two dogs, the home can feel busy and at times messy.

The more time I’ve been able to spend observing the kids, the more I realize how fortunate it is to have kids who work well together. Regardless of the sibling rivalry at times, there’s an understanding that we’re all family and we work out issues together.

Caring for my first born son hasn't been easy with his other siblings at home. This letter to my first born son highlights the emotions I feel when I look at him every day.

Why I Wrote This Letter To My First Born Son

My first born son has always been the emotional one, and I love that he shows his emotions. At times, it can be overwhelming, but we work on improving daily.

It takes understanding on both ends to find growth from the tough times. Over the years, I’ve learned to be mindful of the way I speak to the kids, especially my first born son.

As a mom of multiples, it can be tough to split your time into each child. When you don’t invest the time in each one, you’ll notice the child will lash out.

This is what happens with the kids when I’m busy doing something other than making time for them and the other things that matter the most.

Writing this letter to my first born son was therapeutic for me. It allowed me to think back at times when I was just raising one child, and the journey of adding other siblings as well.

Although it wasn’t easy, and sometimes I thought it would only get tougher, my first born son simplified the transition from one to two kids, and now three.

It helps to have an extra set of hands at home to help with things. As the little ones continue to grow, it’s been fun to see how the kids interact with one another.

The words in this letter to my first born son come from the heart and I hope they can inspire my first son to be an example to his little brother and sister.

It highlights how much I’ve enjoyed watching him grow from a baby to the present day, and why I’m proud to be his mom.

Letter To Son From Mom

Dear First Born,

You may not be the center of my world these days, but you will always hold a special place in my heart.

I want you to know that although I spend a lot of time caring for your siblings, I’m still watching you. Most importantly, I’m proud of all you’ve accomplished thus far.

Watching you become the little man you are today is inspiring! I’m thankful for being able to witness most of your “firsts” over the years.

You’re everything I hoped for in a first born and more. You’re smart, silly, and always willing to help around our house.

At times I look back at the first week from the time your father and I brought you home from the hospital and it makes me cry tears of happiness.

I don’t know exactly how you’ve turned out to be as amazing, but I hope your little brother and sister pick up similar traits. It always amazes me to see how you manage to be so patient with your siblings.

I can see you three spending more time together as you all grow older.

I still hold your hand to help you fall asleep at night. It’s been this way since you were a baby. I know it’s tough for you when I have to care for your siblings when you need me the most, but I try my best to make it up to you the next day.

I don’t think I’ve said this enough, but I’m so proud of who you’ve become. I know it wasn’t easy to deal with a newborn and a toddler when your siblings were younger, and I always apologized for losing my patience with you.

You were my first real scare as a mom, and we’ll always have that bond. Don’t ever forget how much you mean to me. Your father and I are so proud to call you and your siblings our own.

It’s been a wonderful journey watching you grow throughout the years. Please know that you’ll always have my love and support in life.

Love always,
Your number one fan
