Cloudy days are common in Florida. Here are some things you can do at Balmoral Resort when it's cloudy in the Sunshine State. Plus an exclusive look at the layout of their homes.

Taking a vacation during the school year doesn’t sound like us at all, but we recently took the time off and booked our stay at Balmoral Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Why, you ask? Because our family needed a break from our everyday routine.

Living in South Florida means taking random trips to the beach and local attractions such as museums and theme parks.

Sometimes getting away for a bit can be quite beneficial for the family. We’ve been chatting about taking a mini family vacation for months. We chose Balmoral Resort in Orlando because we wanted to test the location for an upcoming trip this June.

What we found was a great home-away-from-home getaway. Although it was a cloudy morning by the water park and pool, it was nice to know we didn’t have to worry about re-applying sunblock. We were able to enjoy the heated pool, test out the water park and enjoy some of the sun peaking through the clouds.

Twin beds which were perfect for our boys.

Fortunately, when you live in Florida, you get accustomed to the 10-15 minutes of rain that happens before the clouds clear up. It was the perfect weather to jump into their heated swimming pool after the waterpark.

We made our way to the arcades the next day to enjoy some of the games Balmoral Resort has to offer. The games at the arcade are free and can be found at the Clubhouse and there are other games such as pool and foosball next to the Balmoral Bar & Grill.

    1. It really is! Worth considering if you’re ever coming to the area in 2019. Please be sure to book using the promo code for 35% off your reservation an $35 at the Balmoral Bar & Grill for your dinner. How cool is that? Book before it ends on March 21st.

  2. Wow this place looks incredible. There’s so much to do and see there! Looks like a brilliant place to take the whole family

  3. I am digging that it is at a convenient location and close to everything you would want to participate in while in Orlando. I love water parks. So fun. The full kitchen is worth it. I wouldn’t mind cooking as opposed to buying food while there.

  4. I would really enjoy this. You can go with family and find something for adults and kids to have a great time. I love it!

  5. I’ve made reservations at this resort for mid-Aug. for my family of 5. Our youngest will be 9 and we’d like to go to the Disney attractions. Do you know what the travel is like from the resort to the attractions? I know it’s not very far geographically, but with traffic, I’m not sure how long it will take. I’m not sure we want to spend an hour in traffic each time we visit one of the parks. Can anyone give me feed back on that? Thank you!
