My dad with two of his grandsons, Sebastian and Joziah.
Father’s Day is upon us so let’s dedicate a day to honoring those daddy and daddy figures who have made a special impact in our lives. Who is a daddy you love and admire? What constitutes the definition of a dad? More and more research has proven the importance of a father figure in a child’s life. In your opinion, why is this so valuable? Let’s show our daddies some love!
For today’s post, I’m going to do something similar to what I did for my Mother’s Day post, because after all, there are too many awesome dads out there to exclude any.
There are several fathers and father figures in my life that mean the world to me. Most are still with me today, while a very few have gone to meet their maker. I’m thankful for the memories I’ve been able to share with all of them and feel blessed to have each of them in my life.
Single dads: You’re stronger than you ever know, and you work so hard to make ends meet. Don’t give up. Your child(ren) need you.
Stay-at-home dads: You didn’t think it’d be this tough, but it is. Your role is so important to your child(ren). Every second counts, keep making it worth that smile.
Working dads: Although you want to spend every second with your little one(s), it takes a lot to get up every day and work hard. You’re awesome, and don’t you ever forget that.
Grandpas: You raised a great man/daughter, and now you get to spoil your little ones. Enjoy these moments, even if we (the parents) get a little upset about it. 😉
Uncles: You’re also allowed to spoil them, but remember, you’re also like a second father. Don’t let them get away with too much!
Godfathers: You’re doing a great job in taking on this responsibility. Your godchild(ren) appreciate everything you’ve done and continue to do for them.
One group I forgot to mention in the Mother’s Day post are step parents: Your role is tough, but you handle it well. I’ve known several step parents that have had to take on this responsibility and it’s not easy. Continue to love them as your own. Every bit of love and attention counts, always.
Want to join in? Cool! You don’t need a blog, you can just take photos and use the hashtag #allyouneedisloveproject — it’s that simple. But, if you have a blog and want to join us each Thursday, you’re more than welcome to do so.
‘Til tomorrow, loves…
