I have always enjoyed summer reading and now that school is out, it’s time to sort through the books you and your kids plan to read this season. I will admit that I am a book hoarder, but there are several books I have collected over the years at work, side street giveaways and events. If you are like me and have a book shelf — or shelves — filled with children’s books, please be kind enough to donate your unwanted books for others to make use of them. I just learned about an annual program called Soar With Reading that places age-appropriate books in the hands of children in underserved areas, while also encouraging children’s imaginations to take flight through reading.
For its fourth annual program, JetBlue is partnering with Random House Children’s Books and bestselling author of the Magic Tree House series, Mary Pope Osborne.
